Remember when the American Girl Doll catalog would come in, and you would just circle absolutely everything in it and hand it over to your parents? My wish lists over time have become much more curated than that, adding things that I know I will use time and time again – quality, not quantity, you know? So in continuing with this week’s Christmas gift theme (because #ChristmasCountdown), here’s what’s on my real live list.
To make it easier on all of us, my family does a Secret Santa with a $100 limit. Most of the time I break the rules and get little gifts for my sisters because they’re fun to buy for, but for the most part, we try to stick to the Secret Santa so we can enjoy the spirit of the holidays without spending a ton of money on stuff.
I’d love to learn calligraphy, so a book on the basics is a necessity. Arianna Huffington’s book “Thrive” is also on my wish list (but the Kindle version, so I can take it with me while I’m commuting back and forth to work). I’m all about monograms, so a weekender (as well as a scarf, necklace, sweater, and throw) are there. Gift cards to the two places where I feel like I spend all of my money are necessary, as well as a jewelry cleaner because I’m terrible at keeping my engagement ring and wedding band as sparkly as they deserve to be! And a fringe bracelet (which also has a matching necklace available!) with this fun pouch round out my list. Oh, also, I’d like T to allow me to foster all of the homeless dogs (for some reason he keeps telling me I cannot).
What’s on your list this year?
