Last year I set up our trusty artificial tree in the living room and felt like it looked a little lackluster compared to some others I had seen online. … A week later I was unboxing a new Christmas tree from Quince (specifically the 9′ Fraser Fir with lights), and OH MY the difference! Here’s how it has held up so far in a real family, with a dog, three kids, holiday chaos, and all!

My tree is a 9′ Fraser Fir with lights. The lights are LED bulbs and there are so many on the tree that it looks like it is absolutely sparkling at night! I love sitting and just looking at it – it has such a warm glow to it that I feel like it really brings that holiday magic to the room.

Quince Tree Quality: Is It Worth Buying?
This tree is so beautiful! It looks so much more realistic than the tree I have from a few years ago. You can see the close up detail of the branches in the photo below.
Quince compares their trees to King of Christmas trees and Balsam Hill trees, which can both be quite pricey and run almost $1,000 or more! I don’t have one from either brand so I can’t compare, but I can tell you that the Quince tree is so beautiful that I am 100% happy with it and plan to replace our other fake tree with another Quince tree soon. (I’m a little bit nuts about holiday decorating – we do 2 big trees on the first floor, plus a tree in each of the kids’ rooms! One of our large trees holds all of our travel ornaments and the other holds the family/sentimental ornaments.)
One question I had about this tree was how sturdy would it be. With three kids and a dog always running around, I can’t have anything that will topple over. I’m very happy with the sturdiness of the tree from Quince. The stand is wide enough to be a stable base for the tree without taking over the whole room (it fits under my rattan tree collar that I use), and we didn’t have any issues at all with sturdiness!
Christmas Tree Setup and Dismantling
The 9′ tree comes in a box and is very easy to unbox and set up. It took me no time at all to get the tree setup and ready to decorate! It comes with a stand, which I covered with my tree collar.
Even though the tree is over 3′ taller than me, I had no problem unboxing it, setting it up, and decorating it. I needed a step stool to take the top piece off of the tree when it was time to dismantle it after the holidays because of its height.
When you’re ready to take the tree apart, it comes apart into 3 different pieces, plus the stand. I kind of wish the bottom piece came apart into another section because it’s a beast to get into the storage bag alone. It’s much easier if you have someone who can help you hold the bag while you lift the piece in! It’s heavy, too, so I had my husband haul the tree (in its storage bag) to the storage side of our basement. I’m not sure I could easily move it by myself – it’s just an awkward shape and heavy, too.

Are pre-lit Christmas trees worth it?
It really depends! I had a pre-lit tree years ago that stopped working, so I ended up cutting the lights off of the tree to use it with string lights. To be honest, though, that was before LED lights became the norm on fake Christmas trees. The trees with LED lights sold now should last a lot longer! Personally, I love a pre-lit tree and if I can take one more thing off my to do list, I will, so yes, it’s worth it to me!
