I read a post similar to this a while ago and loved getting a peek into the everyday life of one of my favorite bloggers. Sometimes it’s easy to only see what’s on the web, whether it’s on someone’s blog or in their Instagram feed, and we rarely think about what’s happening behind the scenes!
These photos, for example, do not show my lists upon lists that I make each day to keep myself sane!
This is a little look into my typical day:
7am Wake up smooshed into a small area of the bed because Sprout needs a lot of space
8am Head to work, which usually takes about an hour. On the way I listen to my favorite radio show or jam out to such current beats as Nelly’s “E.I.” and Chingy’s “Right Thurr”.
I work a full-time job in the corporate world, so I have a busy 9am-5pm. When I’m posting on social media, responding to comments, or replying to blog-related emails during the day, it’s because I’m walking to a meeting or waiting outside a conference room. Gotta get my social in where I can!
5pm-6pm (depending on the day) Leave work and start the commute home. Typically on my drive home, I’ll check in with my family to say hi, or if there are applications in queue for the animal rescue I volunteer with, I’ll take care of making those phone calls during my drive. Occasionally, I’ll need to swing by the grocery store on my way home because I forgot to was too lazy to didn’t go grocery shopping over the weekend and the only food in the house is frozen pie crust, canned peas, and vanilla yogurt. (If you can come up with a creative recipe involving just those items, please let me know, because it seems that those are the sorts of things we normally have.)
an hour later Get home, get barked at by Sprout for a little while before we head out for our evening walk because he a) can’t believe I left him for the day and/or b) can’t believe I came home and it’s the greatest thing ever. Then it’s time to make dinner (or order take out). T and I try to eat dinner together at the dining room table every night, regardless of what we’re eating. It’s our time to chat about our day without any distractions.
7:30/8pm Sign back onto my computer and write/edit a blog post, answer blog-related emails, and/or work on a freelance project. (I do marketing-related freelance projects for small businesses. You can find out more here if you know someone who needs marketing help!)
9:30pm Settle in for a one-hour TV show with T, during which I often fall asleep on the couch. Oops.
10:30/11pm Off to bed I go!
Does your day look similar to mine? I’m always curious what people do in their “free” time!

Such a cute post idea! Blogging is definitely more than what’s seen in pictures 🙂 I also have a long commute and it’s when I make my daily phone calls to my mom and sister. xoxo, Jenna

This is a fun post! As a blogger also with an “other” full time gig, it is nice to hear that other people are doing the same routine…including “not making it” to the grocery on Sunday 🙂
