I’m no Amazon Beauty pro, but I have seen some TikToks raving about various products and thought I should try them out for myself. So I ordered 24 of the best selling Amazon beauty products to try! Here’s my honest review of each, and whether I think they’re worth the hype or not. I’m going to do this in a series because the post got SO long. Today I’m starting with the first 8!
The 8 Amazon Beauty Bestsellers I Tried First
From a simple way to fix a blemish to facial spray and split end repair, these 8 products are all different. If you have any questions about any of them, leave it in the comments and I’m happy to answer!
Mighty Patch
What it does: The Mighty Patch is a small clear patch that you put over a blemish. Supposedly it makes the blemish totally disappear (which I’ve seen a million times in before-and-afters on TikTok and Instagram). For me, though, it caused a reaction from my sensitive skin, which made the blemish 10 times worse.
My review: Skip, if you have sensitive skin. (See some of my sensitive skin recommendations here!) If it’s important to you, this product is vegan and not tested on animals.
Revlon One-Step Hair Brush Dryer
What it does: Gives you a salon-level blowout FAST. It’s basically a brush and a hair dryer in one.
My review: I posted a whole post abut this brush dryer because I love it so much!
Moroccanoil Hair Treatment Oil
What it does: Smoothes your hair, fights frizz, and boosts shine. It’s made of argan oil, which hydrates hair. It can also be used as a detangler.
My review: I’ve been using this for years to get rid of frizz. It’s lightweight but still heavy enough to tame flyaways, whether I’m leaving my hair curly or straightening it. I haven’t yet used it as a detangler but am going to try that on my daughter’s curly hair. One bottle of this lasts me forever, and it smells so good!
Rosemary Mint Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil
What it does: For use daily, it is a scalp treatment and split end care. I read that it can encourage growth by increasing blood circulation, smooth split ends, soothe a dry scalp, and make hair shinier. It’s organic, made up of mostly essential oils like rosemary, jojoba, peppermint, eucalyptus, coconut, lavender, etc. There are some pretty compelling Amazon reviews about how it helped with post-stress hair growth, so I figured why not give it a try!
My review: I used this once a week before a shower. I’d put it on (4 droppers full) my scalp, massage it in, and do a load of laundry or something while I waited about 15-20 minutes. Then I’d shower, shampoo my hair, and go about my day. I’ve been using it for about a month and haven’t seen a dramatic increase in the amount of hair I have, but I’ll keep it up until the bottle is gone and then report back!
Evian Facial Spray
What it does: Boosts skin hydration, spray on top of makeup to revive colors or to help blend makeup. It’s a light mist of water, nothing heavy.
My review: I’ve used these on a few different occasions. I always bring them on planes with me because I feel like my skin gets super dry with airplane air. And if we’re going somewhere like the beach or to a parade in the summertime, I keep these in my bag for a quick spritz if someone gets overheated or just feels really hot. I definitely recommend these for plane travel, if you have dry air in your home or office, and to keep on hand for beach trips or anything in the summertime! They’d also be great to take to a place like Disney in case you get hot and just need a little refresher.
Touch-Up Dermaplaning Tool
What it does: Smooth skin and shape eyebrows, remove fine hairs from the face. It’s like a fine razor blade with micro-guards that you can use on your sensitive facial hair.
My review: I originally bought these to try on my eyebrows, and I love them. They’re so easy to use and have never left irritation above my eyes.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Face Wipes
What it does: Cleans off makeup with a quick swipe without leaving oily residue.
My review: I’ve been using these for YEARS. They’re so good at getting all of my makeup off, including any waterproof mascara. If I’m being really lazy I won’t wash my face after using these, and my skin doesn’t feel oily. My only complaint is that Neutrogena is not a cruelty-free brand.
Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Face Wash
What it does: This face wash is a gentle exfoliant that can be used daily or weekly. Supposedly it “buffers fine lines.” Philosophy also describes it as a mini peel to deeply cleanse the skin, alleviate problems like peeling and flakiness, and dryness and rough texture.
My review: This is another product that I got as a trial size and upgraded to a full size. I use it a couple of times a week, and afterwards it feels like my skincare soaks in better. It also helps remove blackheads, whiteheads, and dry areas. It’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin, which I like. After a little while the top got goopy so I just threw that away and started using beauty spatulas to get the product out.
