I love finding good deals on all the best stuff. And honestly, I hate paying full price when I don’t have to! That’s why I decided to not gatekeep my best tips for finding baby gear on sale or how to get a discount when there isn’t anything advertised.

How to find deals on baby gear
Sign up for email lists
I have one email account that I use for promotional emails. If you go to a website and they advertise $10 off or 10% off, as many do, they will ask for your email and send the code to you. That way my primary email doesn’t get jam packed with promotions.
You’ll also be notified via email if your site of choice (or brand of choice) has a sale, which is helpful. Occasionally you’ll find something like a floor model sale (for nursery furniture from Pottery Barn Baby, for example) that will let you know a store has floor models on sale for up to 70% off.
Abandon your cart
I work in marketing, and a common tactic for winning back customers is to send an email with a discount if they added something to their cart but left the website without placing the order. It’s considered a top way to win back your business! Most companies will send an email within 2 or 3 days if they do this, so try it if you can wait a few days. Usually the discount is 10-15% off or free shipping.
Brands that do this: REBEL (open box/overstock baby gear) will send an email with $10 off. Weezie (towels) has sent a free shipping offer in the past. I’ve also seen this from Quince. Target will send a notification if an item in your cart drops in price or has a promotion, which is slightly different but still helpful!
Shop discount retailers
Oftentimes you can find the same goods at a discount by shopping stores like TJ Maxx and Home Goods. But this can be hit or miss, so if you’re looking for something specific, you may not always find it.
Brands you can often find at discount retailers: Angel Dear and other bamboo pajamas, Copper Pearl (find it here)
Shop overstock sites
This is actually my secret hack for saving money, especially on baby gear and home stuff, so don’t tell anyone 😉 I love that REBEL partners with brands to take product that might otherwise go to landfills and sells it at a discount. These are often brand new, in-box items that are considered “open box” or overstock! Nothing on REBEL (formerly Rebelstork) is secondhand, and everything has been through inspection before being listed on the site at a discount. I’ve gotten a couple of products from them in the past, and they were literally never even opened boxes- my BOB stroller wagon and another stroller. I couldn’t believe what good shape they were in for the discount I got!
You can find open box items and some secondhand baby gear on a site called Goodbuy Gear. (They also buy gear from families, so if you’re in their service areas that’s a good way to get rid of your baby gear when you’re done with it!)

Brands you can often find at overstock sites: Lots of premium brands like BOB Gear, 4moms, Mockingbird, Graco, and more.
Find a promo code
There are a few ways to find a promo code (or promotion code) that will work on your purchase. It could be $10 off or 25% off or more, so you’re basically leaving money on the table by not using promo codes. Extensions like Honey (you add them to your browser) can automatically search for promo codes on a variety of websites when you go to the checkout page.
Baby gear is expensive, and there’s no shortage of stuff you need when you have little ones! I hope these ideas help you save some money on your next baby gear purchase!
