Is Temu Legit? What I Bought From Temu + Would I Buy Again?

I first heard about Temu over a year ago and looked at the site, but the site made me so overwhelmed. There are just so many available items on there, it’s like Amazon on steroids.

Then I realized that I saw ads for a lot of stuff on Temu that I was looking at on Amazon. I went back and placed an order so I could report back on my experience! Full disclosure: I had never purchased on Temu before. They didn’t know I was buying specifically to review them. This is my review based on my experience as a consumer.

What I ordered from Temu

I’m linking the items on Amazon because the Temu inventory changes constantly. These Amazon links are affiliate links and if you click on them and purchase something, I may make a small commission at no extra cost to you.

First, I ordered a sink mat that catches the water left by our long bottle brushes. It’s exactly the one I saw on Amazon but was a bit cheaper (by $3). See the sink mat on Amazon here.

Next, I ordered three different organizers.

• One is a plastic box that I intended to use for a puzzle whose box had gone missing.
• And a set of organizer bags that would be perfect for the various craft projects my 6 year old daughter is always working on.
• I also ordered what looked like a great solution for storing LEGO.

The first plastic box was not great quality, so I set it aside to return. The organizer bags are so good (pictured below). I’d highly recommend if you have a serial crafter like we do! I use them for keeping a bunch of different items together. One houses our favorite coloring sheets for travel and the markers go in the front zipper pouch. One is for the younger kids’ water paint books. And one is for bringing lego with us when we travel.

And the LEGO organizer is so so good. I highly recommend it!

And lastly, I ordered a set of brushes you can connect to your drill to clean grout. They seem to be of good quality, have coarse and strong bristles, and worked when I used them. (Until my husband declared that he had read you shouldn’t use those on your tile… oops.)

Temu shipping time

The shipping time wasn’t awful. It was not at all the one to two day shipping I’ve come to love with Amazon… I think it was a total of 15 days before the package arrived. It came in a nondescript white shipping package and I wasn’t sure what it was at first until I opened it. Temu doesn’t ship as fast as Amazon does, but it didn’t take as long as I expected either.

How are Temu returns?

I went back to the Temu site to return that plastic organizer box, clicked on returns and noticed that you have to submit a request for return. There is a note on the site that any return needs to be in its original packaging with barcodes attached. (Amazon doesn’t require this, for contrast.)

But once I clicked through, they offered me a refund without a return. I guess it wasn’t worth the cost to them for me to ship it back! 10/10 ease of returns because I didn’t have to do anything.

Temu overall review

I think I would order again from Temu if it was something that was much cheaper and the same item on Amazon. I wouldn’t order again if it was just a dollar or so cheaper because I could see returns being annoying. Amazon makes returning items so easy that it is my go-to for most orders these days!
