Skin Routine

I started really taking care of my skin in high school. I have a skincare routine that I try to stick to, which includes getting a facial every six months or so. The new school year will forever signal the start of a new year (even though I’ve been out of school for a while), so it’s the perfect time to get into good habits! There are a few things you can do to make sure you’re putting your best face forward.

1. Take off your makeup
I get it, you get home late and you’re exhausted, and the last thing you want to do is be super responsible and take off your makeup. It only takes about 30 seconds! There are two products I reach for when I need to take my makeup off: Neutrogena’s ultra light cleansing oil or makeup remover wipes if I’m traveling.

2. Change your habits
Don’t touch your face! I’m guilty, too, of wanting to lean on my hands during the day, but think about all the germs that you could be moving from your keyboard to your chin… yuck. Keep your hands away from your face, and make sure you’re regularly cleaning your keyboard, mouse, and cell phone with alcohol wipes. (Just trust me, and don’t go googling how dirty those surfaces actually are. It’s kind of terrifying.)

3. Moisturize!
I have really sensitive skin (as in, I’m allergic to #allofthethings). I start my day with Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Moisture – Sensitive Skin on a daily basis (and sometimes before I go to bed, too). It’s a lightweight moisturizer that doesn’t bother my face at all.

During the summer months, I love the tinted moisturizer with SPF for an added bit of color instead of using bronzer. (To be honest, I wear SPF on my face year-round thanks to Neutrogena including it in many of its moisturizers, which are always well-stocked in my medicine cabinet.)

I stock up on my basics when I go to Target where I use my Red Card – every purchase gets 5% off, which helps with the whole “I can’t go to Target and just walk out with what I needed” thing. (Does anyone else walk in for two items and leave at least $50 over what you intended to spend?) Seriously, Target, stop being so great.

I call this “smizing in the aisle”.

There are some good deals going on right now, just in time to stock up to go back to school. (And if you’re stocking up to go back to college, I’m really jealous.) Get buy three, get one free on Neutrogena facial care until 9/12 at Target. If you use Cartwheel, they have a 10% off Neutrogena cosmetics deal available until 8/29! I found all of my favorite products at the end of one of the aisles, which made it that much easier to keep filling up that basket.

Neutrogena

Even on my latest nights out, I ALWAYS wash my face and take off my eye-makeup (using the Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover pictured above, actually!) It's one of my better habits. I have been trying to work on not touching my face throughout the day, but it's hard!

I touch my face all day and try not to. Neutrogena cleansing products are really great and I have used them before.

Neutrogena has been a favorite brand of mine for years. I'll admit that remembering to take my makeup off before crashing into bed has been a struggle for years.

I think stress and running in the sun a lot is making me think that I should have some sort of skin care regime going on. Thanks for this post.

Always a good reminder! I'm guilty of slacking in my evening skincare routine. Neutrogena eye makeup remover is my favorite!

I've never had a routine (also never wear makeup), but I've recently started picking up some of the neutrogena face washes and love them! They make my face feel so fresh!

I'm guilty of touching my face and not having a routine. I need to get better at this because as I get older, I notice that I have more issues with my skin.

I'm using those Neutrogena Wipes right now and love them – except my package is pink. With four kids, I don't get a lot of time so wipes make it quick!
