Everyone has that one person in their life who seemingly has everything, or goes out and buys what they want as soon as they decide they want it. It can make buying them the perfect gift a huge challenge during the holiday season, never mind for birthdays or other holidays! I’m lucky enough (hah) to have a few family members who fall into this category, so today I’m breaking down what to gift to the person who has everything. These are my go to gifts and hopefully will give you some ideas outside of the norm. They range from a gift card to useful gifts to thoughtful gifts. Of course, I included Christmas gift ideas at different price points.
What to Get the Person Who Has Everything
For grandparents or older parents:
- Digital picture frame where they can display their favorite photos the entire year
- Coffee table book of family photos
- A chance to write their life story for you, with Story Book
- Quality time with their family, in the form of a show or dinner reservation pre-planned (aka experience gifts)
- Nest thermostat
- Family tree jewelry, or something else sentimental
- Night lights on a sensor
For someone who entertains a lot:
- A cheese board
- Personalized cutting board
- Wine of the month club (you can read my review of the WSJ Wine Club here)
This is for the homebody:
- A cozy throw blanket (this one is my favorite)
- A super luxurious pajama set (looking forward to trying this brand)
- A universal remote control
- Smart plugs
- Silk pillow case
- Smart light bulbs
For someone who likes practical gifts:
- A cable turtle to keep their cords organized
- This sticky ball that collects crumbs in your purse
For someone who likes to cook:
- An indoor grow kit, complete with fresh herbs
- Cooking class for something specific, like Thai food or sushi
- A recipe book with your family-favorite recipes so they can try new recipes
- Onion goggles (it sounds kind of silly but it’s actually a very practical gift)
Gifts for tween or a mom who always runs around (also great for new moms or new parents!):
- One of the trendy Stanley water bottles
- Gift certificates for take out or for their favorite coffee shop
- A subscription box related to their favorite hobby
- A belt bag (I like this one!)
- Beauty spatulas
- Mini Instax camera with these cute acrylic photo frames
For someone who lives where it snows:
- A slush buster to remove snow/mud from their car tires
- Mitt snow scraper (My own mother got me this one year and I laughed at it at first, but I’ve used it every winter since then!)
Have an idea for something else I didn’t mention? Let me know in the comments!
