Rarely do I feel like anything in life was MADE for parents with 3 kids. Hotel rooms in Europe? Nope. Cruise ship rooms? No. Restaurant tables? Rarely. So was I ever surprised to find out that BOB makes a stroller wagon with THREE seats in it! BOB is notorious for great strollers, so a BOB wagon is a natural choice for parents who already love the brand to invest in their stroller wagon, too.
I’ve been a fan of stroller wagons since we got our Radio Flyer wagon back in 2020. We had our second baby on the way, and I was trying to envision how we would handle our three year old, a newborn, and all of the stuff we typically travel with for a beach vacation. (Yes, we had a double stroller complete with travel system – from Baby Jogger, but that wasn’t sufficient for what I was envisioning.) A wagon for kids seemed to make sense. Wagons just make life so much easier when you need to haul a lot of stuff AND kids (when no storage basket in the world seems large enough!).
BOB Renegade wagon 3 seater review
A few things I love about the BOB Renegade wagon:
- There are two smaller seats (with 5-point harnesses) on one side and then a larger seat on the opposite side. Five-point harnesses are great for wiggly toddlers or for little ones who refuse to sit down and it becomes a safety issue (been there). This is great for us because our oldest sits on one side and the two younger kids sit on the opposite side. All three fit comfortably for rides around town, even though my oldest is 7(!) and already 53″ tall. The BOB site says that the Renegade fits up to 44″ tall, which makes sense because her head is definitely hit by the canopy when it’s extended, but it doesn’t bother her at all to ride if the canopy is open. The wagon has been a lifesaver on long walks when the kids get tired.
- My kids noted how well the suspension system handles the bumps on the sidewalk. My older child noticed it right away, and that’s worth noting if you have a new baby or are worried about how the stroller frame and wheel suspension handles bumps (smoothly!).
- There is a removable snack tray with cup holders in it, which is very helpful when you’re trying to manage snack time and a walk at the same time. (Let’s be real, with 3 kids are we ever really managing our time well or just kind of rolling with it as best we can!)
- The fold/unfold is SO EASY. At first I thought this was going to be too big but it fits well when folded in the back of our 3-row SUV as long as there isn’t a lot of luggage or other stuff back there. And the fold is just so easy, along with the unfold.
- Double cup holder for the parents!
- Great on all terrain. We have yet to take this to the beach, so I’m not sure yet how it will do on sand, but it does well on grass and gravel.
- Maneuverability. The wheels make this very easy to turn. While I wouldn’t say it turns on a dime, moms will appreciate how fast it can maneuver around potholes. An agile beast, for sure.
- Very easy to put together. The directions made it easy to go from box to strolling in about 10 minutes.
- Stores upright, which is a space saver in the garage for sure!

Now a few things I really wish they’d change on the BOB Renegade:
- You can push or pull with the one handle, but you don’t have the option to switch the side you are pulling/pushing from. Our Radio Flyer wagon has this option, and I much prefer to push going up hills. It’s more difficult with the BOB Renegade. I wish the BOB Renegade had a handlebar on the other side of the wagon to make it feel more convertible.
- I wish they’d add an optional tote that hooks onto the wagon. Again, something that our Radio Flyer wagon has that just makes a big difference when you’re carrying extra weight- a bag of snacks, for example, or bubbles and a ball. Something easy for the BOB team to fix with future models, or to make an optional add on! You just need somewhere to put the diaper bag sometimes, and if it weighs a lot you don’t necessarily want to be carrying it at the same time as you’re pushing the wagon.
- The seats don’t recline. I’m not sure any wagon seats do, but worth noting!
Where to buy a stroller wagon
We got our BOB Renegade from a company called REBEL, which partners with thousands of brands on product that is considered open box or overstock and sells them (at a discount!) online. (The site has thousands of popular brands at some really great prices!) It came in its original box, with everything still wrapped in its protective packaging. AND it was listed at almost 30% off of the retail price.
REBEL quality checks every item before listing it online. I love the company’s mission of tackling retail waste. Not only is REBEL helping parents buy (typically expensive) baby gear at crazy-good prices, but they’re also diverting tons (literally… over 25 million pounds) of products out of landfills and into homes. Some brands are listed at up to 70% off! Thank you to the REBEL team for sending us this stroller wagon!

FAQs about the BOB Renegade Wagon
What are the weight limits? The maximum weight for the BOB wagon is 55 lbs per seat, or 165 lbs total.
How does the BOB Renegade do on the beach? I totally agree, if there’s one place for a stroller wagon it’s on the beach! We haven’t taken ours on deep sand yet, so I will have to come back and update when we do!
What is a stroller wagon? It’s part-stroller, part-wagon. Typically they have some kind of seatbelt or harness for kids, but they hold a LOT more than a regular stroller.
Are stroller wagons a good alternative to strollers for toddlers? Yes! Especially for day trips, or if you’re going out to a farm or even just for a walk in the neighborhood.
Where do you take your stroller wagon? Everywhere! Except one place… Disney World no longer allows stroller wagons, which is kind of a bummer because they’re so useful for a full day out.
Does the BOB Renegade fit in the trunk? This is the wagon in the back of my 3-row SUV. You can see that it folds down but it isn’t a small fold, so you definitely need to have some trunk space to fit this stroller wagon in your trunk.

We are really enjoying it so far! I have to take it on a few different terrains to say it’s really the best, but so far it’s been great!
