If you aren’t familiar with the Quince brand, you’ll want to start at this post about Quince as a brand, who they are, and what they’re built for. Like I said in that post… Not everything is worth buying, but there are many Quince clothing items that are definitely worth trying! Today I’m sharing specifically the Quince sweaters I’ve purchased, as there are SO many amazing ones on the site – and many to avoid.
If you’ve been eyeing Quince sweaters and wondering whether they live up to the hype, you’re not alone. I’ve tested multiple styles over the past couple of seasons, wearing them on repeat, washing them, and comparing them to higher-priced brands in my closet. In this post, I’ll break down which Quince sweaters are worth buying (and why), plus the ones I’d skip, so you can shop with confidence.
Why Quince Sweaters Are So Popular
Affordable luxury vs. traditional retail
One of the biggest reasons shoppers turn to Quince is its affordable luxury model. Instead of going through multiple middlemen like traditional retailers, Quince uses a direct-to-consumer approach, which keeps prices significantly lower. For example, a 100% cashmere sweater that might cost $150–$200 at a department store is often under $60 at Quince. The idea is that you’re still getting premium fabrics and timeless designs, but without the hefty markup that usually comes with luxury branding, retail locations, etc. This makes Quince sweaters an appealing option if you want the quality of higher-end labels without paying traditional retail prices.
💡 Did you know? Traditional retailers often mark up sweaters by 200–300% to cover overhead and branding. Quince skips the middlemen, which is why their cashmere sweaters cost around 60–70% less than similar luxury pieces.
Materials Quince uses in its sweaters
Quince sweaters are made with a range of high-quality, natural materials designed to feel luxurious without the high price tag. Some of the most popular options include 100% Mongolian cashmere, prized for its softness and warmth; merino wool, which is lightweight, breathable, and great for layering; and organic cotton, a comfortable everyday choice that’s easy to care for. Quince also offers blends that combine natural fibers for durability and stretch. By focusing on responsibly sourced fabrics, Quince aims to deliver sweaters that not only look good but also hold up well over time.

Quince Sweaters Review
When I first heard about Quince, it was through ad after ad after ad. I chose a few fall sweater items from their bestsellers list to test out the quality of the pieces. Below I’m sharing details about each one, plus sizing info. For reference, I’m 5’8″ and normally a true size medium. If you want to see non-sweater Quince items, go to this blog post!
Review of the Bestseller Quince Clothing Sweaters
A sizing note: I am a true medium in every brand I shop. For all of these Quince sweaters, I bought a medium. Here’s how it went!
Batwing Sweater
First up was this batwing sweater. I own a couple of other batwing sweaters and reach for them often in the winter months because they’re so cozy! The fabric of this sweater is a dream. It’s so soft. The length is perfect for jeans or leggings. It comes in 6 different colors and 2 different cashmere weights, and this is one I’m going to hang onto. I ordered the S/M size (it comes in S/M or L/XL). This is a keep!

Cashmere Everyday Crew Neck Sweater
At $50, this crew neck cashmere sweater is such a steal. I have a similar sweater from Nordstrom (one of their in-house brands) that I think I paid $80 for at a major sale. This one from Quince comes in 14 (!) different colors). It’s super soft, fits true to size, and the length feels perfect for an everyday cashmere crew neck that you’ll most likely pair with jeans or work pants. I ordered the medium.
Update: After wearing this one A LOT over 2 years, I will say that the sweater holds up fairly well. I wash it in my normal washer, and it started to show wear after a year of consistent wearing/washing. (I hang it dry.) This one is a keep, and the price is good enough that it’s not going to be a budget breaker if I have to replace it after a couple of years.

Mongolian Cashmere Tee
I have this in black and find it to be true to size, comfy, and a perfect transition season top! I ordered the medium. It’s very similar to a J.Crew short sleeve cashmere I have that was more than double the price of this one from Quince. Keep! It’s a great transition piece between seasons. I might get another in a different color, too.
Baby Alpaca Wool Quarter Zip Sweater
I didn’t love this sweater, to be honest. It’s soft, for sure, but it felt really thin. I left the tags on because you can see them through the sweater, and I wanted to show you guys that so you could see what I mean about the fabric! I ordered the medium in this. I returned this because I knew it just wouldn’t be warm enough for New England winters.

Baby Alpaca Wool Cropped Cardigan
Another miss for me. The fabric felt too thin- like it’s more of a fashion statement than a warm piece. Which is totally fine, it just doesn’t work for me. I ordered the medium in this. Returned!

100% Organic Cotton Fisherman Boxy Cropped Cardigan
This cotton sweater is the perfect boxy fit. It’s cropped at just the right spot, where it doesn’t show too much above my jeans (I’m 5’8″) but isn’t too long so it doesn’t look messy. This has become my go-to sweater on the weekends when I want to be comfortable but also want to look slightly pulled together.

Sweater comparison chart
| Sweater | Options | Fit | Notes |
| Batwing Sweater | 6 colors (I have in Navy) | S/M or L/XL | Keep! |
