Baby Gear Review: Affordable Baby Bassinet (SNOO Alternative)

I posted a quick picture of my newborn sleeping in her super affordable baby bassinet, and I was surprised at how many people shared and saved the post! But it makes sense- baby sleep is so important, and you only use a bassinet for a short period of time that spending a lot on it seems crazy. So read on for my full review of this affordable baby bassinet that costs LESS than $100 (at post time it’s currently $69!) and is a great alternative to the SNOO or similar bassinets. (We’ll dive more into that too.)

What’s great about this baby bassinet

The portable bassinet featured in this Baby Gear Review is an affordable alternative to high-end options like the SNOO, costing less than $100 and providing excellent quality for parents seeking a budget-friendly solution. It’s an affordable baby bassinet with some great features. You can plug the bassinet into the wall and use a soothing/rocking feature, or you can just use it as a safe bedside spot for the baby. I loved having the mesh sides so I could see her even when I was lying down.

PRICE

One of the best things about this bassinet is its price!

HEIGHT

It’s the perfect height to use during the day or during the night. Here’s what I mean about that… When we had our second baby, I wasn’t sure I wanted to use the DockATot like we had with our first. We had a toddler running around the house and I wanted to make sure the baby would be okay (and away from any toys or twirling Elsa performances).

We kept the older version of this bassinet on the first floor of our house, and we would wheel it over to the table at dinnertime, into the kitchen while I was cooking… wherever we needed to be, so we could put the baby down. And it was SO useful. So when the new version of this bassinet came out and Delta Children reached out to ask if I wanted one, I was excited.

MESH SIDES

The older version of the bassinet only had small mesh panels. This new version has mesh all the way around, so it’s more breathable and makes me feel better to have the baby sleeping in here.

PORTABLE

We move this around the house on the first floor so we can have the baby near us but not on the floor if we need to put her down.

SPACE FOR DIAPERS

There is storage space underneath, which comes in really handy when you need to do diaper changes (SO many diaper changes with a newborn!) or want to have extra clothes or swaddles nearby. Babies come with a lot of baby stuff, so it’s nice to have a place to store some of it where you need it most.

What could be improved

LIGHTWEIGHT

It feels really light, so when the kids go to check in on the baby it makes me a little nervous that it could tip over if they pulled on it.

MUSIC CHOICES

The bassinet comes with music you can turn on, which in theory is great. But the music sounds kind of tinny to me (if that makes sense?) and isn’t very soothing. That could definitely be improved!

MOVEMENT

This bassinet, similar to the SNOO, has movement built in with the push of a button. With a baby that rolls, I’m not sure if it’s the best idea to use the movement. The SNOO has the baby swaddled on their back and the swaddle is attached to the bassinet… this doesn’t have anything like that, so in theory the baby could roll with the movement. (If you’re interested in reading about the SNOO, I have a full review here!)

Overall review

We use this affordable bassinet as a safe place for the baby to nap when we are not able to be holding her – for example, if we’re cooking or eating dinner. It’s a very useful piece of baby equipment! Plus, the price is right and it’s affordable to have at home. You could use this at your bedside or on the first floor of your home if needed. In all, I think this bassinet s a super useful piece of baby gear.
