The Best White Sneakers to Wear with a Dress

Since I started working from home full-time back in 2017, I no longer immediately pair heels with a dress. I am definitely in a stage where I prioritize comfort over everything else. (Heels just don’t work anymore for me, unless it’s a very special occasion. I’m always running around with my 3 kids so it’s hard to be in anything other than sneakers!)

And I’m so happy that white sneakers with a dress are totally on trend! I’ve tried some of the most popular white sneakers and am sharing my thoughts here. Read on to find out what are the best white sneakers to wear with dresses.

Best White Sneakers to Wear with a Dress

All-white sneakers are probably the most versatile shoe you could have in your closet. They go with jeans, dresses, sweatpants, everything. It might seem crazy to go with all-white sneakers, but they’re actually really easy to clean. (How I wash my white sneakers below!) Whatever a quick wash cycle can’t fix, a magic eraser usually can! Here are my favorites:

Keds

The OG white sneaker! I started wearing white canvas Keds when I was a little girl, and the are 100% the OG casual sneaker. I bought another pair when I was in college and have loved them ever since.

White Leather Sneakers

Funny enough, my favorite white leather sneakers right now are actually Keds sneakers. They didn’t take a long time to break in, they’re super comfortable, and I can wear them with literally everything. They’re so versatile. If I’m traveling and don’t want to bring a lot of different pairs of shoes, I usually pack these and maybe one other pair.

Rather than tying the laces each time I put them on, I tied the laces underneath the tongue of the shoe. That makes them really easy to slip on and go. Hands-free sneakers are just a necessity sometimes as a mom! (Also very needed when you’re super pregnant!)

Adidas Superstars

I love the look of Adidas Superstars with a midi dress. There’s something about it that feels very European!

Converse

About 10 years ago Converse low tops were THE sneaker you’d see all over Pinterest. I still think they’re a great option to wear with dresses (or denim, or shorts…) but they’re not the ones I reach for every day.

White Sneakers for Kids

If you’re looking for white sneakers for kids, check out these from Keds, Converse, or Adidas. My son has a similar pair to these sneakers, and he loves them! Very easy to get on and off (he’s 2.5).

The nice thing about any of these options is that they’re pretty easy to clean, even though they’re all white.

The best way to clean your white sneakers

I typically spray my white canvas sneakers with a laundry spray and then run through a normal wash cycle. I like to dry them in the sun, which I think bleaches them a bit more than drying them indoors.

For my leather sneakers, I use a magic eraser to get off any scuffs. It’s amazing how much those can clean! (I use the magic eraser on my kids’ Natives too!)
