Divi Hair Review: Is it worth buying?

I was recently influenced to buy Divi, the hair care line by influencer Dani Austin. I’ve been using it for a couple of months so now I’m here to share if Divi shampoo and conditioner is worth buying (or should you really just save your money).

I bought one of the Divi hair bundles that included shampoo, a small conditioner (travel size), and their Whipped Repair Treatment Mask. I had been following the brand for a little while and was very curious about their products. Some people swear by their scalp serum for encouraging hair growth, and at the time I found them I was postpartum (with the postpartum hair to prove it- IYKYK). I saw an Instagram reel on their page about this whipped hair mask and how it was supposed to be incredible. I thought it would help with the hair breakage I was dealing with, so I ordered the bundle to try the shampoo and regular conditioner, too.

Here are my honest thoughts on the Divi hair products I have tried (which I’d buy again and which was a total fail)

Divi Volumizing Shampoo

First, this shampoo smells delightful. It has a very light tea tree oil scent to it. And the packaging is pretty, too. At $32, this is something I might rebuy as a splurge gift for myself or if it was on sale.

Divi Whipped Repair Treatment Mask

Divi used its “signature” scent in the majority of its products, from what I can see on the site, and this hair mask is no exception. I primarily bought the Divi bundle FOR this mask which I was hoping would help with the breakage in my hair. On the product page there’s a little blurb about how the repair mask “showed a 94% reduction in wet combing force compared with the control” (this is what the Instagram reel showed that pretty much got me to buy!). But after using the mask as directed, I was so disappointed.

Normally a hair treatment mask makes my hair feel softer, but this one oddly made my hair feel… not at all different. I was disappointed. My hair felt better after putting the conditioner in, but at $34 for a hair treatment mask, I expected better results (and less breakage) when I was using it as directed. I would call this mask a total fail and a definite skip, don’t buy. Apparently I wasn’t the only one. I went back onto the Divi site recently and saw others leaving less-than-stellar reviews for the hair mask, saying it made their hair “feel like straw” or that it “doesn’t do anything.”

Here’s a side-by-side of the conditioner (left) vs. the hair mask (right) so you can see the consistency of both. It almost feels like the hair treatment mask is just the conditioner but whipped up. Skip! I went back to my favorite hair mask instead.

Divi Hydrating Conditioner

I’ll start off by saying that I like the conditioner. It smells nice, it does a good job in making my hair soft, and the bottle is pretty. At $32 a bottle, this would be something I might buy if it was on sale.

Final thoughts on Divi hair

Would I buy Divi hair products again? Honestly, probably not. There are SO many hair product brands out there, and I hate spending a lot of money on something that just doesn’t work better than the other options, all other things being equal. (I usually try to buy cruelty-free products whenever I can, because I don’t love the idea of stuff being tested on animals. I also try to buy dermatologist-recommended items as I have sensitive skin and am prone to reactions to some ingredients.)
