One In One Out Resolution

New Year’s resolutions are a pet peeve of mine. There, I said it. I’m all for resolving to do great things – if you’re actually going to do them. But saying you’re going to make changes to be healthier just because it’s a new year, and then not actually making any changes… why waste the words?

So, want to know what my New Year’s resolution is? 😉
This year, I kept making excuses as my home office got messier and messier, blaming Christmas for the sudden influx of packages and lack of floor space. But the reality is that I have too much stuff.
Starting today, I’m working on a one-in-one-out rule. Any new items that come into my possession (I’m talking shoes, clutches, jewelry, clothes, lamps… My husband says I have a problem with buying lamps) mean that I’ll be selling or donating an item of the same kind.
I’m hoping that by blogging this new “closet lifestyle”, I’ll feel compelled to keep it up. And I’m also hoping that at the end of 2015, I’ll have a more organized, edited closet. It will also force me to make better decisions about what I’m buying rather than always clicking “purchase” without thinking about it too much. Fast fashion, this might be my goodbye to you!
Did you make any resolutions this year?

I love your new rule – one in one out…I need to do a huge closet clean out and then I'm going to start following that as well, plus building a wardrobe that has more staple pieces in it! xo, Biana – BlovedBoston
