Rent Kindle Books from your Local Library

Did anyone else take part in a reading program at your local library during the summers? I loved library days, picking out new books and recording the books I had read since my last visit. (At the end of the summer at the big library party, you’d get a prize. The more books you read, the better your prize was.) Yep, I was a nerd.

I’ve been using Kindle Unlimited to get unlimited books (at least the ones that are available on there) for a monthly fee, but then I realized after talking to my mother-in-law that I could stop paying the monthly fee and instead rent library books on my Kindle. With some quick Googling (seriously, what did people do before the Internet?) I realized I didn’t even have to go into the library, saving me, like, ten minutes of driving. I was surprised that so many of the books I wanted were already checked out, but the next day I got an email that two of the books I wanted were available. And that, friends, brings me to this blog post’s title question: Why didn’t I do this sooner?
