Mixtiles Review: The Easiest Way to Create a Gallery Wall?

If Framebridge feels a little too “investment piece” for your current season of life, let me introduce you to Mixtiles.

I actually heard about Mixtiles first from my dad (hi, Dad!) when he was decorating my grandmother’s room at her nursing home years ago. He wanted an inexpensive way to put photos on the walls without a) damaging the walls/leaving holes and b) having the ability to switch out photos over time. He found Mixtiles and sang their praises to all of us!

Mixtiles promises peel-and-stick photo tiles that require no nails, no measuring, and no commitment, which immediately caught my attention as a mom who rearranges the furniture every few months and always wants updated photos on the walls!

Here’s my honest Mixtiles review, including price, quality, and whether they actually stay on the wall.

This is not a sponsored post, but an honest review of my own opinion. If you purchase something through my links, I may make a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting my small business!

What Is Mixtiles?

Mixtiles turns your photos and art into lightweight framed tiles that stick directly to your wall. They’re especially popular for kids’ rooms, hallways, rental homes, and casual gallery walls. Basically anywhere you want to put some color or a photo but wouldn’t be devastated if it got broken/damaged.

You upload your photos, choose a style, and they arrive ready to stick. While I haven’t yet had to take them down and move them around, Mixtiles claims that the sticky tiles won’t ruin your walls. (I know that they didn’t ruin the wallpaper in my grandmother’s room, but I can’t comment on how they’ve affected the painted walls at our home yet!)

Mixtiles photos look good, but they are not meant to look like custom framing. There is no glass over the picture/art.

Mixtiles Photos & Art Quality

Mixtiles photos look good, but they are not meant to look like custom framing.

There is no glass over the picture/art, just the printed photo/art and frame. Note that the photo and mat are on the same page- not separated.

In my experience, the prints are clean, bright, and casual.

Think more “modern photo wall” than heirloom framing. Mixtiles are a much more casual option than a photo framed by Framebridge, for example. For everyday family photos, vacation memories, or kids’ artwork, they’re a great option, especially if you think you might change out your prints frequently. Or even if you just don’t want the investment ($$$) of framed photos with glass.

Mixtiles Sizes & Layout Options

Mixtiles keeps it simple.

  • Standard square tiles are most common
  • Limited size options compared to Framebridge
  • Easy to mix and match layouts

This simplicity actually makes them ideal if you don’t want decision fatigue.

Mixtiles Sizes & Styles

Mixtiles keeps things simple, focusing on lightweight, peel-and-stick photo tiles in a handful of size formats and a few frame or frameless options.

Mixtiles lets you choose colors like black, white, wood tones, and frameless styles too.

Note: All Mixtiles are lightweight (~0.75” thick) and designed for renter-friendly hanging without tools.

Mixtiles Price (Budget-Friendly Win)

Mixtiles wins BIG on price over competitors- Mixtiles price is significantly lower than custom framing:

  • Bundles reduce the per-tile cost
  • No extra fees for hanging hardware
  • No tools required (this might be my favorite part about them! No running around finding the hammer)

They’re especially affordable if you’re framing a lot of photos at once.

Mixtiles Promo Codes & Deals

Mixtiles frequently offers:

  • Mixtiles promo codes
  • Bulk discounts
  • Seasonal sales

If you’re patient, you can almost always find a deal. Around Black Friday I ordered 4 photos framed in the same size for a hallway, and I paid just $99! (Of course, a couple of months later they had a new offer come out for $79 for the same thing… oh well.)
