Treating Your Best Friend Right

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NudgeThemBack #CollectiveBias

If you follow me on social media, you know that I am kind of obsessed with my dog. I can’t help it – look at this face!

You may not know, though, that Sprout and I were certified as a therapy dog team back in October. (There’s some good info on this site about therapy dogs vs. service dogs, in case you are wondering what the difference is.) It’s something I had wanted to do for a while, since realizing that Sprout could make a difference to people who are suffering in some way. Because of my schedule, we have only done a couple of events, but I can’t wait to do more.

These college kids ate pizza while meeting Sprout, and he couldn’t stop staring at the cheese!
T and I adopted Sprout from a rescue in Texas when he was just four months old. He turned four years old in February this year! He and I have a special bond, and I love sharing him with others when he is “working”. After each workday, Sprout gets a special treat (okay, let’s be honest, he gets special treats a lot…).
Sometimes we (yep, he comes, too!) head over to the store where he gets to pick out what he wants, and it always makes me laugh to watch him try to decide on just one thing.
I try to only buy items made in the USA, with real meat (no fillers) as one of the first ingredients.
(I got him these new treats at Walmart in the pet food aisle, found here under “Long Lasting Chews”. I’m drawn to items that sound like something I might eat, and “Grillers” and “Sizzlers” made the cut.):
This is Sprout’s “I did a good job, so please now can I eat that?” face. He’s a great listener when I’m holding something delicious.
If you want to see more of this fluffy face, Sprout has his own Instagram page where I shamelessly post photos of him all day err’day (not really, but there are quite a few).
Thanks to Collective Bias and Nudges® Grillers and Sizzlers Dog Treats for sponsoring this post!
