Our Engagement Photos

Deciding on an outfit for your engagement photo shoot can be stressful. Luckily, one of my best friends is a photographer, so she gave us some tips on what to wear (and what to avoid). We chose blue tones because T and I both love the color blue, and because we knew we would want to use these photos in our home, which is decorated in quite a bit of neutrals with splashes of blue. I knew we weren’t going to use these photos for save the dates (which had already gone out at the time we did the shoot), so they were more for us… a snapshot in time before our wedding!

At first, I thought I wanted to get super stylish for this shoot with a tulle skirt and heels, but I settled on something I would wear any day of the week:  a bright shirt, skinny jeans, and riding boots. I wanted to be comfortable! T wore a navy checked button-down to bring in a hint of pattern with a navy sweater, jeans, and brown shoes. And Sprout, the star of the show, wore his blue collar and leash. See? We love the color blue!

My go-to makeup artist, Kristina, did my makeup for the day – and I’m so glad I booked her for this! It’s true that the camera “eats” a lot of your makeup, and I love the natural look she did (except with way better lashes than I was born with).

We took our photos at Boston College, which is where we had our ceremony. It’s such a gorgeous campus, and it was especially well-groomed that day (with maroon and gold tulips everywhere) because it was graduation weekend.

This is one of my favorite photos, which hangs in our house now. #truelove
