Let’s Talk About Travel

Since it’s still snowing almost every day in Boston, let’s talk about travel, beaches, and frozen drinks.
I want to know… Have you ever taken a trip solo?

A few years ago, T and I went to a great Mexican resort, and at dinner one night (which was family style, with tables of 8-10) we met an older man who had been at the resort by himself for three weeks. He said it was fun for him to meet new friends from all over the place – and then in the same breath started speaking French with a Canadian couple next to us with whom he had dined the night before. #jetsetter

Having had T as my travel buddy for the past 5 years, I don’t know if I would ever travel alone. I mean, who would I talk to the whole time? (And when I say the whole time, I mean mostly the whole time – I don’t like to have a quiet room, so even when I’m working from home, I have to have Pandora or the TV on or I get too distracted!) Anyway…

I’m excited that there’s a new company in town that lets you travel with a new-found friend (or two). I’m not talking a three-week excursion to Mexico like our jetsetter dinner friend – just a few hours’ drive (or more if you want), like a weekend trip from Boston to NYC. Using Tripda, I could either hitch a ride with someone or offer a ride to others next time I go to see my sister and make a little extra spending money on the way. NYC isn’t exactly a budget-friendly place, so I wouldn’t mind that! Plus, it’s nice to have someone to talk to if you’re going to drive for four hours.
Have you tried Tripda yet? Have you ever taken a long trip alone? I want to know!
